When Barack Obama came to London for the first time as President of the United States there was a bit of furor over his choice of present to Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
While poor old Gordon gave Barack a pen holder carved from the timbers of the sister ship of that which gave the wood to create the President’s very own desk in the Oval Office, all the PM got in return was a box set of America blockbusters – which couldn’t actually be played on a UK DVD player.
After the ensuing media outrage, the President’s crew decided to up their game on the gift front. Upon meeting the Queen, gone were the DVDs and instead a fully loaded iPod was the present of choice.
On the Royal iPod, footage of the Queen’s last state visit to the USA (where this moment of Bush comedy gold occurred ) as well as Broadway hits.
So why not take a leaf out of Obama’s book and give a friend or family member a pre-loaded iPod. Just give Anoraks Anonymous a call or drop us an email and we can arrange to load his or her CD collection on an iPod for them for a perfect birthday of Christmas gift.
